From Greg Wischer at the United States Department of the Interior: "The Theodore Roosevelt Island National Memorial, with two fountains and a 17-foot statue of Theodore Roosevelt, was just repaired, cleaned, and beautified, after experiencing chronic periods of disrepair.  The fountains were fixed; the statue was cleaned and waxed; and the granite elements were pressure washed. The memorial was dedicated on October 27, 1967-Theodore Roosevelt's 109th birthday. It is the only presidential memorial in Washington, D.C., where the landscape itself serves as the primary tribute to the president--a mature native woodland designed to reflect Roosevelt's conservation legacy."
