Mr. President, thanks for giving us time today. I wanna get to you on Iran. 24 hours ago in the White House, you said this is the final chance. What has happened in the developments overnight?
I hear they're doing very well. Iran called me. They didn't want the biggest attack since World War II. And, uh, we said, "Hey, I'd rather do it that way. I'm not looking to kill people, and totally obliterate everything." And that's where we were headed. And they wanted to negotiate, and we're doing that, and it seems to be working out quite well.
What makes you think this will be different --
You never know.
-- because they tend to never --
It may be, it may not be. I think that the threat of this t- -- I, I mean, we were, this was more than a threat. We were ready to go. And, you know, in life, they know when you're ready to go and when you're just bluffing. No, we were ready to go. And we are ready to go. We have to do that.
You're here for No Tax on Tips. You've been here before in April for that. Why is Nevada such a good place to continue to talk about?
Well, you have more people and more tips being given in Nevada than any other place, probably in the world. And it just hit me, and, you know, I tell the story about the waitress. He said, "Sir, we should have no tax on tips." And it just hit me and I did it, and I got it approved, maybe more importantly.
You know, a lot of people say it, but I said it and I got it approved.
You obviously have a property here, so when you talk to workers that work for you, this affects them.
They like me. They like me. And they -- overtime is a big thing too. No tax on overtime and no tax on social security for our seniors, so it's great.
Let's talk about election security. Here in Nevada, uh, the DOJ came out and said there's 16,000 non-citizens on the voter rolls. The state disputes that, disputes that, but it looks like they might be willing to work with the DOJ.
Well, I think they should. And you have a governor who's doing a very good job. Uh, but there are many, many fake voters. Uh, they have people from all over. I mean, they have people from other states. Nevada's a problem, but I would say more than half of your states have serious election problems. That's why we wanna have voter ID. It's why we wanna have, uh, let's say, I think, I think citizenship is very important.
You have to prove your citizenship. In order to vote, you have to approve your -- you have to show citizenship. I also think, uh, mail-in ballots, the concept of mail-in ballots, it's immediately corrupt. Jimmy Carter, the best thing he ever did, I didn't think he was a very good president, but he had a commission.
And his commission came out to the conclusion, you cannot have mail-in ballots, people will cheat. And we have to get rid of mail-in ballots.
Mr. President, I know you spoke about it up there, but, uh, for the family and the community here of the fallen law enforcement officer, just wanna give you the opportunity to speak on that.
Well, I just feel so badly. I mean, I got hit with that when I came off the plane, and I have to feel. I love the law enforcement, and he was outstanding. You know, they presented me with his record as a police officer, and it was flawless. He was a flawless person. He was a great person. And all you can say is God bless them all.
You expect to be back in Nevada as we head towards November?
Oh, yeah, I'll be back. Uh, it's a great place, especially. We won it big. And we wanna have our candidates win it big. We don't wanna have. We have big things happening with the midterms. And this is a state, you know, you have No Tax on Tips. They will overturn that. They didn't vote for no tax. Democrats didn't vote for No Tax on Tips.
They didn't vote for No Tax on Social Security. They didn't vote for No Tax on, uh, Overtime. Uh, even the deduction of your interest for income tax purposes when you buy a car, they voted against that. They voted against everything. They will overturn it if they take over. All of the things, including men and women's sports, transgender surgery, for everyone, uh, they will overturn it if they get in. We can't let that happen.
A Las Vegas and developer question for you. They're building the Hard Rock Hotel. The strip has changed so much since your hotel went up. What do you think about what's happening here in Vegas?
Uh, I think it's great. Look, it's always been a place that it's been wonderful. We've had a tremendous success with the Trump Hotel. Uh, I hear the new Hard Rock will be something special. So, but I'm, I'm all for it. You know, I'm president, I want everyone to do well. In the old days, uh, I might have said, "Well, I hope they don't do too well." Now I say, "I want, I want everybody in our country to do well."
Mr. President, I appreciate you giving us your time.
