BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
A PROCLAMATION
For 250 years, American workers have been the driving force behind our Nation’s strength, prosperity, and industrial might. Their skill, ingenuity, and determination have fueled our economy and carried American manufacturing to new heights. On National Manufacturing Day, we honor the men and women who make, build, and create in America — and we celebrate the extraordinary comeback of American manufacturing.
As President, my highest priority has been putting America First by restoring our Nation’s manufacturing and bringing back good-paying American jobs. I have imposed powerful tariffs to protect American workers and businesses from unfair trade practices, and as a result, we are seeing the greatest reshoring of American manufacturing in our Nation’s history, alongside a surge in demand for products Made in America. Since I returned to office, I have secured more than $11.2 trillion in United States and foreign investments across manufacturing, critical infrastructure, and technology sectors. Groundbreakings of new factories are surging with 112,000 new factory construction workers building since I returned to office. The factory construction jobs of today mean more good-paying manufacturing jobs for decades to come. These investments fuel job growth, innovation, and opportunity across every corner of our country.
I was also proud to sign the Working Families Tax Cuts Act into law — landmark legislation that makes the Small Business Tax Deduction permanent and allows American manufacturers to immediately expense 100 percent of their factory, machinery, equipment, and domestic research and development investments. At the same time, this historic law is putting more money back into the pockets of hardworking Americans and increasing take-home pay, including new provisions like No Tax on Overtime. After declining by nearly $850 under the previous administration, the real wage for the average manufacturing worker has surged by $2,500 annually since I took office. These efforts are driving a revival of American manufacturing and making our country the best place in the world to build, produce, and invest.
After years of failed policies that hollowed out our industrial base and left American workers behind, manufacturing is once again powering America’s economic resurgence. After years of decline, manufacturing employment is rising once again with 72,000 new manufacturing jobs added in 2026 so far. Today, we honor the generations of Americans who have built our country through their hard work, and we look proudly to the next generation, who will carry on our great tradition of American innovation and enterprise. Together, we will make American manufacturing bigger, better, and stronger than ever before.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim October 2, 2026, as National Manufacturing Day. I call upon all Americans to celebrate the entrepreneurs, innovators, and workers in manufacturing who are making our communities strong.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this second day of October, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-six, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fifty-first.
DONALD J. TRUMP
