[The first 23 seconds of audio was not available at the time of transcription. It was added subsequently from contemporaneous sources, though the audio is not available.]

Donald Trump 00:00:00-00:00:56 (57 sec)

I thought FIFA was incredible. There has never been anything like it, probably in terms of an event, let alone soccer or football, whatever you wanna call it, but I though it was incredible. It was four times greater than any FIFA ever held. And it's probably about five times actually, they're telling me today. So we're very proud of our country. We're very proud of the job that was done by everybody. Uh, we congratulate Gianni Infantino and all of his staff and the incredible job they did, but this was one of the greatest events of any kind ever held. So --

[Crosstalk]

Donald Trump 00:00:56-00:01:12 (16 sec)

-- we're really happy that it, it did so well. And all over the world, people have, uh, come and they've loved our country. You know, it's shown off our country in a different light. And, uh, it was a great thing. It was a great event and I'm glad you all enjoyed it.

Question 00:01:12-00:01:14 (2 sec)

-- sad Argentina lost?

Donald Trump 00:01:14-00:01:15 (1 sec)

Say it?

Question 00:01:15-00:01:17 (2 sec)

Are you sad Argentina lost?

Donald Trump 00:01:17-00:01:36 (20 sec)

No, I wasn't sad. I think they both played well. Uh, I would say Spain played better, really. But, uh, they both played well. I mean, they got to the finals and, uh, it was very exciting actually. It looked like Spain dominated, but it was a very close match. So it was, it was great. It was a great event, yes.

Question 00:01:36-00:01:38 (1 sec)

[Inaudible] -- died.

Donald Trump 00:01:38-00:02:15 (37 sec)

Well, we feel very badly, but you know, those great people, those great patriots were out there fighting that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. Uh, Iran has been very, very badly damaged. They've, uh, lost everything almost militarily. They've got very little left. They've got some missiles. They've got some drones. They've got some manufacturing ability, not much. Uh, we control the Strait. They don't control anything. So we'll see what happens, but we hit them very hard again tonight. And, uh, we did that in honor of the probably three. It's probably three as opposed to two great patriots.

Question 00:02:15-00:02:22 (7 sec)

Mr. President, what are the consequences for China for meddling in US elections after --

Donald Trump 00:02:22-00:02:25 (3 sec)

Well, we're gonna see. We'll be speaking to them purposely.

Question 00:02:25-00:02:29 (4 sec)

And sir, can I ask you, did you have a conversation with Carney from Canada today?

Donald Trump 00:02:29-00:02:30 (1 sec)

I did. Yeah, I did.

Question 00:02:30-00:02:32 (1 sec)

How did, how did that go?

Donald Trump 00:02:32-00:03:13 (41 sec)

Well, it went good, but I, I told them, I mean, you gotta stop these fires from coming in and, you know, poisoning our air. Our air has been poisoned. I have a good relationship with Mark Carney, but you know, we gotta stop the fires up there. If we can help them, we'll help them. But maybe th- they should pay us some damages, or something, or we should do some tariffs. But it was terrible. I mean, you had businesses closing. In particular, Michigan, if you look at, uh, Detroit, the Detroit, Michigan, they had to close everything. They had to close car plants and a lot of other things. So I've never remembered this happening. Over the last four or five years, you saw it starting to take place. I've never remembered it happening before.

Note 00:03:13-00:03:16 (3 sec)

[Crosstalk] Did you have a chance to talk to the Prime Minister of Spain?

Donald Trump 00:03:16-00:03:24 (8 sec)

Well, I did. I spoke to Spain and I congratulated them on having a great team. I spoke, I really spoke to a lot of people.

Note 00:03:24-00:03:24 ( sec)

[Crosstalk]

Question 00:03:24-00:03:26 (2 sec)

Do you have tension with Spain before --

Donald Trump 00:03:26-00:03:29 (3 sec)

No, I have no tension. I have no tension with anybody.

Question 00:03:29-00:03:33 (4 sec)

Mr. President, this plane does not have anti- --

Donald Trump 00:03:33-00:03:34 (1 sec)

Yeah.

Question 00:03:34-00:03:35 (1 sec)

-- defense systems --

Donald Trump 00:03:35-00:03:35 (1 sec)

Well, it has --

Question 00:03:35-00:03:36 ( sec)

[Inaudible]

Donald Trump 00:03:36-00:03:50 (15 sec)

-- it has a lot. And, uh, you know, it has a lot of capability, but as I understand it, in about a month or so, they're gonna send it to have it be, uh, maxed out. So they're gonna be sending it and they'll have it be maxed out. It'll take about a month.

Question 00:03:50-00:03:56 (6 sec)

Mr. President, Canadian wildfires. Did you speak to the Canadian prime minister at all --

Donald Trump 00:03:56-00:04:11 (15 sec)

I did. Well, I was just saying, I gave an answer here. Uh, I spoke to them about it. I said, "You gotta, you gotta get it stopped." It's really forest management, and they should know how to do that. If you go back four or five years, I don't remember ever having a problem like this, and we do have that problem.

Question 00:04:11-00:04:16 (6 sec)

Uh, on Iran, Mr. President, you said at the start of the war it'll be four or five weeks. [Inaudible] five months --

Donald Trump 00:04:16-00:04:44 (27 sec)

Well, you keep hitting me with, this is a far bigger job that we're doing. We were doing a little job and stopping them from having a certain capability. Now, we're just ending it. So it's really not the same thing. What we're doing now is we're ending any chance where they could have a nuclear missile. If you look at it after a week and a half, not four weeks, a week and a half, two weeks, we stopped them from probably, but I don't want to have the word probably. Thank you very much, everybody.

Question 00:04:44-00:04:46 (2 sec)

Thank you, Mr. President.

Question 00:04:46-00:04:46 ( sec)

Thank you, sir.
