Mr. President, thank you very much --
Thank you.
-- for taking the time. Let's start with where we are, Thermo Fisher. Why make the trip here to Cincinnati? Why travel to Reading today?
Well, it's really a great company, and they have, supply a lot of jobs, and they're bringing, uh, medicine and medications back into our country. It's, uh, shoring, you could call it, but they're doing a fantastic job, and I like to reward the companies that are doing well, doing really, really good.
Wanna ask you about it, something that's on everybody's mind, gas prices. Last few weeks folks have been seeing them go up. Are you looking at a threshold for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve? Saw the announcement from the IEA earlier today.
Well, we'll do that, and then we'll fill it up. I filled it up once, and I'll fill it up again. But right now we'll reduce it a little bit, and that brings the prices down. We have to get rid of the evil, uh, there's great evils taking place in Iran, as you know. And our military has been unbelievable. We are knocking the hell out of them.
And, uh, we've knocked out their Navy, their Air Force, their, all of their anti-aircraft weaponry, uh, their radar. Frankly, we knocked out their leaders twice. Uh, they have a new leader every three weeks, every three days. So, uh, I think we're doing really an amazing job, and we've been given credit all over the world.
Somebody had to do it. 47 years of horror, 47 years of killing and maiming people, uh, millions of people killed because of this country. So it was time for somebody to do it. We should have had a president do it a long time ago.
Wanna ask you about the SAVE Act. Any frustration with Leader Thune about how this has been rolling out?
Well, look, it's, uh, a very basic thing. It's called Save America, actually, and that's what it is. It's having to do with voting and voter ID. We want voter ID. We want proof of citizenship. Uh, we added a couple. No men playing in women's sports. We don't want that. Nobody does. I think it's about a 98% issue.
Uh, we want, uh, no transgender mutilation of our children. Very basic things that you wouldn't even think we'd be talking about 15 or 20 years ago. But for the voting aspect of it is we want voter ID, very important. You have to have identification, and you have to have proof of citizenship. We don't want mail-in ballots.
We don't wanna have ballots coming from all different corners of the world. We wanna have it accurate, and you can't do that with mail-in ballots. Actually, Jimmy Carter headed a commission years ago. He said, "Mail-in ballot is no good." We're the only country in the world that's doing mail-in ballots. And, uh, that would exclude, though, our military, or people that are ill, people that are away, so we're generous in that way.
But people don't want mail-in ballots because you have crooked elections. It guarantees a crooked election.
You're making another stop here in Northern Kentucky. Is this the start of you getting back on the campaign trail for this midterms just a few months away?
Well, I love this whole area. You know, it's been very good to me, and, uh, we won big this whole region, a landslide. And, uh, I love it. I love the people. I love being here. It's not like work. If it was work, I probably wouldn't be so happy. Even talking to you, you've, you've always been fair to me, which I appreciate.
But, uh, you know, it's the beginning of a campaign. We have to win the midterms. Historically, the person that wins the presidency doesn't do well in the midterms. I don't know why. But if you look at the numbers, you know the numbers probably better than anybody else, uh, but historically, the person that wins the presidency, Republican or Democrat, even if they're a great president, the midterms don't go their way.
We're gonna try and turn that around. We, we're doing a great job. There's never been a better year for a president. I mean, I've been rated. There has never been a better year for a president, first year, than what we had. That includes the stoppage of eight wars with a ninth to come. Uh, and what we've done, the economy is roaring.
It's phenomenal. That's why I'm here. This is an excursion, a little excursion, and I think it's only that. And in that little time, that short period of time, we've taken care of business. We took care of a co- -- country that was very dangerous, very bad, would've had a nuclear weapon if it weren't for me and the B2 bombers and what we did not very long ago.
They would've had a nuclear weapon, and we would've had, uh, levels of problem that nobody has ever seen before.
Got a crowd in Northern Kentucky. What's gonna be your message talking TrumpRx and lowering prices here today? What's gonna be your message to them in Northern Kentucky?
Well, the biggest thing is medicines. I mean, I brought it down. It's, uh, we have now, we went from the highest price in the entire world. We paid more than any other country, and now we're gonna pay the lowest price in the entire world. And that's never happened. We have re- -- uh, medicine reduced by 70, 80, 90%. We have, uh, pills that would sell for $10 in London selling for $135 in New York.
I mean, the whole thing was crazy. And we fixed the system, and we got it done. And people said it wasn't, they weren't able to get it done in the past. I don't even think they tried, but we got it done and we did a job like nobody else could've done.
Thank you very much, Mr. President.
