Remarks: Donald Trump Holds a Virtual Tele-Rally for Ohio GOP Candidates - October 31, 2026

Well, thank you very much, Jon, and it's an honor and it is, I have been there three times in the last little while, but more importantly, we won it all three times in record vote. We get the highest vote of the history of the state. So, uh, that means that Ohio likes me and I like them. I love them, actually.

So I just wanna thank everybody for being on, because three days from now, we have the most important midterm election, I think, of our lives. It's, uh, just so important. We have to make sure that our country keeps on the right path and doesn't go the jihadist or any other route. And I'm asking all of you to go out and vote for Jon Husted, he's an incredible guy, just respected, respected all over the country, but so respected in Washington, D.C.. Does great no matter what he does.

And Vivek Ramaswamy for governor, and Vivek's been my friend for a long time, is su- -- is just a really smart, capable guy. And for Congress, Mike Carey, Ohio's 15th Congressional District, Eric Conroy for Ohio's first congressional district, and Derek Merrin for Ohio's ninth congressional district. And vote early and vote in person.

And please pretend I'm on the ballot because when I'm on the ballot, we get almost 50% more voters. And so, uh, I don't want to sound egotistical, but whatever it takes, when I'm on the ballot, we win all the time. And when I'm not, people don't go out and vote. And we really are. If you think about it, I'm on the ballot because all of the tax cuts, all of the incredible things that we've done for our country, uh, uh, fighting to end the nuclear capability of a, of a place called Iran, which is, we, we've been at war with them since 1979. They started it. We didn't start it, but we finished it. And it'll be over very soon.

Gas prices will be tumbling. What do you see? We're already, I mean, much lower than anybody anticipated. And by the way, lower than Barack Hussein Obama and Joe Biden were. And yet we've extinguished their possibility of a threat for a nuclear weapon. If they had a nuclear weapon or that capability, nobody would be able to sleep very well, believe me, because they'd use it. So I just wanna thank everybody.

And I have to say, Jon Husted, he's, as you know, he's an All-American football player. He didn't talk about it because he's a, uh, sort of a humble guy. But he's a great guy respected by just everybody. He's a warrior for Ohio. And I got to know a little bit about Jon because I knew him pretty well, I thought, but, uh, he's not a bragger.

If, if I had his career in football, I'd say I'm the greatest that ever lived. [Laughs] Trump is the greatest that ever lived, but he doesn't do that. But I only learned with Jon Gruden, the great coach. He came to one of the rallies recently, a couple of weeks ago. And I said, "Why are you here?" He said, "I'm here for Jon Husted, my teammate.

We won the national championship. He was the best player on the team. He was an All-American. He had the NCAA record for interceptions. He was a safety and interceptions." And he said something that was very impressive as a football kind of a guy. I'm a football, I like football, like a lot of sports. But he said he would just absolutely rip people's heads off when he tackled.

So that's a football coach's dream. And he said he's one of the best players he's ever seen at that position. So I said, "This is different. I didn't know he even played." And I told the audience and he went up like about 14 points and he's leading. I think he's leading or he's very close to. But he's an incredible guy.

Beyond that, I think he's better, he, as good as he was in that, he's even better at, at getting things done and getting things done for your, your state. And so his opponent, Sherrod Brown, was fired by Bernie Moreno. Mer- -- Bernie Moreno beat him. He's been in office. Uh, he's been 52 years, that's all he's ever done.

And he was a disaster for Ohio. That's when we started losing all our jobs to other countries. Sherrod Brown, he lost over 300,000 manufacturing jobs. He's one of the reasons I became president because I used to complain about that for years and I got so sick and tired. I ran for president and won in 2016. But he voted for Joe Biden's open border invasion.

He voted for mass amnesty for illegal aliens and let them vote. He wants to give them a vote. That's the only reason they're allowing these people to come in. And they're criminals, many criminals, murders, 11,888 murderers. Many committed more than one murder. Think of it. 50% committed more than one murder and he let them in. He voted 10 times in favor of the deadly sanctuary cities.

He wants the whole state to be sanctuary. So it's, you know, it's sanctuary for protecting criminals. And he voted to raise your taxes more than 55 of them, more than 50 times. Sherrod Brown has been a disaster. He's not respected at all in DC. They can't even believe he's running, the Democrats I'm talking about.

And he is, and he's running against one of the finest men, one of the greatest men you'll ever see. So I just wanna say that, uh, you gotta get out and you gotta, uh, vote for a man that is running against somebody that just had an F rating. Jon Husted's running against Sherrod Brown. Sherrod Brown was just given an F rating by the NRA, meaning F is when they wanna take your guns away.

So I don't know how you can get away with that in, frankly, in Ohio. But, uh, you can't do it. We can't have him. We have a very delicate balance, and we're doing great, but we can't let a seat like that. It's so important. Also, it's, it's a seat of respect. They have great respect for Jon Husted. Nobody respects Jared, Sherrod Brown.

So I just say, you gotta get out, you gotta get Jon in, you'd be so proud. We had the rally. We had a couple of rallies, three, and they were unbelievably, and he was unbelievably well received. He's the most solid person you'll ever see. Also, you need to get out and elect a really good friend of mine. I got to know him on the campaign trail.

I said, "That guy's a smart guy, Vivek Ramaswamy. And he is smart and he wants to cut your taxes really tremendously. He wants to do things that a lot of people would not do because they don't think in terms of that. They're not, they're not people that think to the future. Nobody is gonna fight harder to bring jobs to Ohio." And, you know, we have, I don't know if you know, but we have two things.

We have a record-setting job number. More people are in jobs right now in the United States by hundreds of thousands, by many, than ever before in our history. Incomes are higher than ever before. Uh, manufacturing is better than ever before. We're sending out, not taking in, sending out more things than we've ever done.

That means manufacturing is back and is back in a very strong way. And, uh, eliminate your income taxes. Vivek wants to eliminate and the income tax for Ohio. Vivek's opponent was Ohio's COVID czar, Amy Acton, who viciously shut down your schools, churches, and businesses and destroyed Ohio communities, wanted to put many people in jail because they went to church.

She wants to double your taxes, compares law enforcement to white supremacists, and had an F rating from the NRA. I think all of these people have opponents with an F rating. I don't get it. They wanna take away your guns. An F rating is actually hard to get. That means they wanna stone-cold take away your guns.

And I, I will say this, you know, the press was very unfair to Vivek. Uh, her mother said that she was a liar. If my mother ever said I was a liar, Mary MacLeod, if my mother, Mary MacLeod from Scotland, if she ever said that I was a liar, it would be, you get the Pulitzer Prize in journalism. But, uh, because it was so effective, uh, everybody sort of said, "Oh, isn't it terrible that Vivek is, is saying something that the mother --" No, her mother said that she's a liar.

She can't be trusted, and that she said very unthink, unfair things about her opponent. And I don't guess somebody's gonna explain why it's wrong for Vivek to have said that she said that. But if he doesn't say it, I will. So her mother said she's a liar. She can't be trusted. And if her mother says it, we'll take it. So go vote for Vivek Ramaswamy.

For Congress Representative Mike Carey is fantastic. I was very much involved in helping Mike the first time he got in, and we had a big victory Mike. It was incredible. And Ohio's 15th district, he's done an outstanding job. He's running against a socialist named Don Leonard who donates to Bernie Sanders' campaign.

He's a radical left lunatic, actually, and said, "ICE must be dismantled immediately. They're taking too many people out of our country." You know who's taking out? They're taking murderers out, and they're taking drug lords out. And, uh, just Mike, I'll tell you what, I know Mike so well where he's a warrior.

We're all, all these congressmen are warriors. They fight with us and, and we win all the time. So, and we won on the Second Amendment, and we win on immigration. And as you know, we have absolutely, we have absolutely nobody coming into our country illegally and nobody can even believe the numbers. It's hard to believe, actually.

We have 18 months in a row where not one person has come into our country through, through our open sieve southern border, but that's 'cause we built 2000 miles of wall. We got that done. Not easy, by the way. Not easy. They fought us all the way. So vote for Mike Carey. One other thing in particular having to do with Jon and with the congressmen, we, I mean, it's been sort of amazing.

We have on the prescription drugs, your favorite nations. I got favored nations passed. So we paid the highest drug price in the world for, for 50 years. We paid the highest drug price in the world. Now we're paying the lowest drug price in the world. And I'm not gonna bore you on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, but we paid, think of it, we paid the highest drug price in the world for drugs, and now they're reduced by 80 and 90%. We are now paying the lowest drug prices anywhere in the world.

And all of these people on the phone, if you look at that, they should win for that alone. So Mike Carey is great. In Ohio's first district, Air Force patriot Eric Conroy and other warriors running against a far left open borders, high tax radical named Greg Landsman. All he wants to do is taxi out of business and he's being bankrolled by his former boss, crazy Nancy Pelosi.

Nancy Pelosi's a lunatic. She's a, a terrible person and an absolute lunatic and she's Trump deranged. So, uh, this guy Greg Landsman is, if you go by those policies, that means open borders, it means transgender for everybody. It means men playing in women's sports. And Nancy Pelosi's a disaster, this guy I worked for and he's supposed to be worse than, worse than she is. And Derek Merrin for Ohio's ninth congressional district is running to defeat Democrat Marcy Kaptur.

Now, I've been reading about her for years. She is stone-cold crazy. She's laughed at all over Washington. Everybody says she's gonna lose every time there's an election and she somehow wins, doesn't win by much. But it's finally time that somebody, Derek Merrin is respected by everybody. Everybody loves him.

And it's time that we enter 44 years of Washington. She's a weird person. She raises taxes all the time, opens your borders. She wants open borders and wants transgender mutilization of your children. And she wants to totally destroy the Second Amendment, F rating. So go for Senator Jon Husted, he's unbelievable.

You gotta get this guy in. It's whoa. Uh, the thought of him not being in. I'm telling you, Jon Husted is respected in Washington like in a short period of time, like practically nobody. Vivek Ramaswamy, everybody knows him. He's gonna do things that, that are so positive for Ohio as your governor. Mike Carey, Eric Conroy and Derek Merrin on November 3rd. And we're gonna have numbers that are gonna shock people. I really believe that. Otherwise I wouldn't be saying it because they'll play it back a hundred times.

But, uh, we're gonna have numbers that are shocking. I've been all over the country doing rallies and now I'm doing these tele-town halls, which is so unbelievable and so effective. And I think we're gonna really, uh, send shock waves and we're gonna keep our country strong. We've never had a country like this with $22.2 trillion pouring in and we've created $25 trillion of worth just in this short time that I've been in office the second time.

So I just wanna thank everybody and thank you for the all-time record vote. I appreciate that. I love Ohio. And Vivek, I'll hand it over to you. Thank you very much.
